I’ve always been a coffee drinker - and after switching careers in 2015, decided i’d follow my passion for speciality coffee.

What does it mean to be a barista to you?

I think the role of the barista is huge. You’re quite often the first person someone speaks to in the morning, the relationships and connections

you make with customers as a barista can be so meaningful.

Why do you love your job?

I love the rush of being busy in the morning, there’s such a buzz when everything’s going smoothly. My favourite part of being a barista by

far is seeing regular customers, catching up while making their drink.

One thing I love about being a barista in Cardiff is that the community - although still small is fantastic! There’s cuppings, latte art throwdowns

and lots of people who are super passionate about specialty coffee.

What’s the next step in your journey?

I just want to continue learning about coffee, the industry, running coffee shops - there’s so much to discover.”
