@roberttalbotcoffee was on my list for the “Coffee Heroes” project for a long time! We met many times in Artigiano in Cardiff but never had a chance to have a proper chat. It was an absolute pleasure to meet and talk coffee! Thank you again! Robert’s story: ☕️☕️☕️👍

1. Hey Robert. Can you please introduce yourself and say what do you do? Hello, my name is Rob and I am a barista.

2. How did you get in to coffee? My time with coffee started 3 years ago with a job that plunged me into the world of speciality. Having never drunk or enjoyed the thought of coffee before this, it was a lot to take in at once.

3. What is speciality coffee for you?Speciality for me is friendship, shared knowledge and a common ground, being able to talk to anyone else in the coffee world and instantly have that dialect with them really helps build friendships, even across the world!

4. What are the most important aspects of being a barista? The more important aspects of being a barista, talking to the customers, consistently delivering the highest quality beverages and, if possble, making others enjoy coffee as much as you do! 🤪

5. Your biggest, everyday challenge in hospitality/coffee industry? Biggest challenges? I think typical things like very busy periods, work flow, organisation, all depends on who not what, two good baristas working in unity can take on the world! 😎☕️

6. What is your ultimate goal in Coffee?

My ultimate goal is of course to open my own shop with fellow baristas, but in the long run would be to expose and get It into the spotlight even more.

7. Some wise words for people who want to learn more about coffee? And your own coffee inspiration? Put aside some spare time and explore! Instagram, youtube, books, your local independent cafes, all can be used to learn and develop, especially if youre brewing at home. 🏠 ☕️ As for my own inspirations, its always the people I work with, encouraging, experimenting and challenging each other will always lead to growth. 👉♥️
